Honorable Dr. M. R. Hulinaykar, the founder and chairman of Sri Shridevi Charitable Trust (R.), envisioned SIET as a hub for quality technical education in Tumakuru. His dedication to education and his native district led to the establishment of SIET in 2002. Dr. Hulinaykar's leadership has been instrumental in the growth of the institute, which now offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs, and has produced graduates who excel in their respective fields both in India and abroad.
Shridevi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SIET), situated in Tumakuru, Karnataka, is a prominent educational institution affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, Karnataka, and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. Founded by Honorable Dr. M. R. Hulinaykar, SIET is dedicated to delivering quality technical education and has significantly contributed to the educational landscape of the region.
Established in 2002, SIET offers a comprehensive range of academic programs, including 9 undergraduate, 5 postgraduate, and 5 Ph.D. research programs in the fields of Engineering, Technology, and Management. With an annual intake of 630 undergraduate and 207 postgraduate students, the institute has successfully graduated 18 batches of engineering students, many of whom have pursued higher studies and secured successful careers globally.
SIET operates under the aegis of the Sri Shridevi Charitable Trust (R.), Tumakuru, founded in 1992 by Dr. M. R. Hulinaykar, a renowned surgeon, academician, and educationalist. The Trust manages over 12 institutions across various educational streams, embodying Dr. Hulinaykar's vision of promoting quality education from pre-primary to postgraduate levels. The establishment of SIET is a testament to his commitment to education and his dedication to the development of his native district.

Through his visionary leadership as Chairman and Managing Trustee, SIET has grown into one of the best engineering colleges in Tumkur and is widely recognized among the top engineering colleges in Tumkur. The trust today oversees 12 institutions across diverse educational disciplines, continuing its mission of delivering quality education and empowering future generations.
Since its inception in 2002, SIET has remained committed to delivering quality technical education and fostering academic excellence. Recognized as one of the best engineering colleges in Tumkur and among the top engineering colleges in Tumkur, the institute offers a diverse range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. research programs across engineering and management disciplines.
