At the very outset, since from the inception of Department of Training and Placement the Department acts as a core area in our College which complements the efforts of the faculty members by organizing value added programs and providing placement opportunities to students. The department is constantly pitching different industries to build relations and network with industry people for placements of our Engineering as well as MBA students.
Today the global employment market has changed from what it was even a decade ago. Organizations are not only looking for individuals with a prescribed skill set but more importantly individuals with an aptitude to expand this required skill set in the course of their work. Companies now-a-days provide adequate work related training to their employees themselves, but they require the recruit to be competent and able enough to imbibe that training quickly and effectively. This is why aptitude testing has become an inherent part of all recruitment processes and hence aptitude skills are imperative for the career.
Soft skills are different from other skills in terms of it being the only set of skills which can never truly be crammed into anybody. These skills can only be polished at best. No one can teach you how to behave, but a basic knowledge of social etiquette and professional protocol can go a long way in the corporate world.
The Placement details of our students are an indicative factor that the college is having very fruitful and meaningful relations with the industries. However, during last few years, the demand of our graduates has increased exponentially. Adequate and modern infra structural facilities have been created over the years. As a part of the efforts to develop and strengthen the relationship with the corporate world, SIET has delineated long-term strategy to place students in prestigious organizations. “The goal is to help to build a long – term career with leading organizations and not just place the students”.
Department of Training and Placement arranges and coordinates various programmes that aim at molding the students so as to meet the industry expectations in career building and in turn bring laurels to the Institution.
