Hon'ble Dr. M. R. Hulinaykar, Founder and Chairman of Sri Shridevi Charitable Trust (R.), envisioned Shridevi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SIET) as a centre for quality technical education in Tumakuru.

Driven by his commitment to education and the development of his native district, he established SIET in 2002. Under his leadership, the institute has grown to offer a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs, nurturing graduates who have achieved success in their respective fields in India and abroad.

Shridevi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SIET), located in Tumakuru, Karnataka, is a prominent educational institution affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. Founded by Hon'ble Dr. M. R. Hulinaykar, SIET is committed to providing quality technical education and has made a significant contribution to the educational development of the region.

Established in 2002, SIET offers a comprehensive range of academic programs, including 9 undergraduate, 5 postgraduate, and 5 Ph.D. research programs across the fields of Engineering, Technology, and Management. With an annual intake of 630 undergraduate and 207 postgraduate students, the institute has successfully graduated 18 batches of engineering students, many of whom have pursued higher education and built successful careers in India and abroad.

SIET operates under the aegis of Sri Shridevi Charitable Trust (R.), Tumakuru, founded in 1992 by Dr. M. R. Hulinaykar, a renowned surgeon, academician, and educationist. The Trust manages more than 12 institutions across various educational streams, reflecting Dr. Hulinaykar's vision of promoting quality education from pre-primary to postgraduate levels.

The establishment of SIET stands as a testament to his commitment to education and his dedication to the educational and social development of his native district.

Dr. Hulinaykar’s unwavering commitment to education and his dedication to the development of Tumakuru district led to the establishment of SIET under the aegis of Sri Shridevi Charitable Trust (R.). Through his visionary leadership as Chairman and Managing Trustee, SIET has grown into a well-established institution offering a wide range of academic programs in engineering, technology, and management.

Today, the Trust oversees 12 institutions across diverse educational disciplines, continuing its mission of providing quality education and empowering future generations.

Since its inception in 2002, SIET has remained committed to delivering quality technical education and fostering academic excellence. Recognized as one of the best engineering colleges in Tumkur and among the top engineering colleges in Tumkur, the institute offers a diverse range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. research programs across engineering and management disciplines. With an annual intake of 630 undergraduate and 213 postgraduate students, SIET continues to support the academic and professional aspirations of future engineers, researchers, and managers.
