Library and Information Center

SIET Central Library, at the heart of the Campus, provides an ideal environment for intellectual inquiry with its multiple Study Spaces, Research Assistance, and Reading, Learning and Instructional Resources. The State-of-the-Art facilities established to provide much-needed services to support excellence in Teaching, Learning, Research, and Extension. The User-focused facilities and services provide seamless access to resources and to evaluate Scholarly information to learn and create new Knowledge.

The SIET Central library situated in second floor with an area of 840 sq.m. Designed in such a way it has natural light over entire day and provides a friendly environment to gain knowledge in an effective manner. Accommodating various facilities, reading and learning resources, and seating arrangements for about 200 Users at any point-of-time. Wi-Fi, Internet access, Electrical plug-in facilities, etc. Digital Learning Resources and Online access to major E-Journals and E-Books on Science and Technology, Management available from VTU Consortia and Developing Library Network (DELNET). KOHA, an Integrated Library Management Software package is used for Library operations. Institutional Repository (IR), a digital repository of SIET at Central Library, where students can access earlier final year academic project reports submitted by our students. Centrally well-protected Fire alarms and CCTV surveillance.

About Library

The Library in SIET main campus is well equipped with 38389 reference and text books on current subjects, 71 National Journals, 19 International Journals and good number of Institution project reports.

Library provides services like borrowing, reference, internet e-mail and e-journals facilities to students, teachers and research scholars of all the departments.  The Library is getting e-journals under VTU E-Consortium program.

Our Library also have Journal section, reference section, magazine section, internet connectivity, scanning facility, printing and Digital Library where students can browse, photocopying and printing is provided to the students Qualified, experienced and well trained Library professionals serve the user community with excellence and provide assistance in meeting academic and research information needs.

Currently the library is located in the second floor of academic block building with lift facility.
