The Department of Civil Engineering in Shridevi Institute of Engineering and Technology was started in the year 2011-12 and offering Undergraduate, Post graduate and Research programs. At present the department has a total intake capacity of 30 students for UG program, 13 students as intake capacity for CAD Structures under PG program.
The curriculum of UG and PG program is designed by VTU, Belagavi to make the students best fitted for industries requirement and promote the students to take up research in the vast and diversified area of Civil Engineering specializations.
The department is having well experienced professionally and technically qualified faculty and staff members. The department is having well equipped state-of-art laboratory equipments in Concrete and Highway laboratory, Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory, Environmental Engineering laboratory, Strength of Materials Laboratory, Fluid Mechanics laboratory, Geology, Surveying and CAD laboratory.
In every semester the department is organizing conferences, technical seminars from eminent subject experts from premier institutes like IITs and IISc. Faculties are being encouraged to attend conferences, FDP and workshops.
Students are given a holistic understanding by providing them hands on training in basic concepts of Civil Engineering and exposure to the emerging technologies and software tools that are being used in analyzing, designing, planning and scheduling the construction projects for upgrading students knowledge for the present technology.
